About Me

Paula Moneypenny

I’m a compassionate, funny, empathic, supportive, gentle and encouraging Narrative Therapist and supervisor.

I have a Master of Counselling (with First Class Honours) from the University of Waikato and a Post-graduate Certificate in Professional Supervision from WINTEC. I provide professional supervision to practitioners in the fields of health and social practice (including counselling, occupational therapy, nursing, midwifery, social work, and human services).

I believe that a collaborative, safe and respectful therapeutic relationship enhances emotion regulation and promotes self-awareness and resilience. I value the client’s agency, knowledge and resources and work to discover with them that which supports and sustains them.

I have clinical experience as a senior counselling practitioner and educator (I’m an experienced, registered high school teacher) in primary, middle and secondary schools.

I also work with organisations to provide workshops to support wellbeing in the workplace.

I’m a Fulbright scholar and my work is based on the principles of friendship, collaboration, peace, kindness, compassion, and social justice.

The Association has a Code of Ethics, which I abide by, as well as a complaints process.
