I enjoy supporting clients to deal with issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, grief, PTSD, low self-esteem, bullying and anger (to name a few!). I am trained in trauma recovery and suicide intervention.
I utilise somatic techniques such as Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Polyvagal Theory. I am trained in ACT and Compassion-Focussed Therapy and teach mindful self-compassion/self-soothing skills. I enjoy supporting clients with attachment and self-concept issues through inner child/parts work.
I am also clinically trained in treating trauma/PTSD/C-PTSD and traumatic memories.
Along with face-to-face therapy, I also offer Telehealth (Zoom, WhatsApp, phone etc) sessions.
I work with children, young people, adults, families, and provide workshops to various groups. I provide clinical supervision to counsellors and psychologists and professional supervision to practitioners in the fields of health and social practice (including counselling, psychology, occupational therapy, nursing, midwifery, social work, and human services).
Counselling is about relationships so I welcome the presence of support people, partners, family members, friends, colleagues, or anyone that the client chooses to invite.
Counselling is an opportunity to have a conversation that invites care, reflection, respect and new learnings about the self and the potential to create new beginnings for a person’s life. I work collaboratively through valuing the client’s agency, knowledge and resources. The focus of the work is discovering with the client that which supports and sustains them.
